The Oscar For Best Director Goes Too...........

During the last two weeks students in my class have been working on a PowerPoint project that they would give to the entire class. I had one student who with a little free time upon finishing his project put together one of the more amazing things I've seen. I asked this student to show me how they did it because I was really blown away by the finished product. He used a recording option on a program we use here at our school, Microsoft Paint, and Microsoft Movie Maker. I think you will be as blown away by what this student did as I was.

Mr. Harpers Civil War Project

In Mr. Harper’s class we are currently learning about the civil war. The civil war took place between 1861 and 1865. It was one of the bloodiest wars ever with Northern portion of the United States fighting against Southern portion of the US. The south was for slavery while the North was against slavery. In this project I am working on maps that show the Northeren and the Southern states and the territories. In Mr. Harper’s class we have had a lot of fun learing about the Civil War.

Map Testing

We are in the middle of MAP Testing. We do it for 3 weeks each school year. Our school has already done Communication Arts. This week we are doing Math portion of the MAP test. Next week only 5th grade will be doing the Science portion of the MAP test. I think MAP testing is important because It shows how much the teachers have taught us during the school year.

We are doing some cool prizes if we are here for all the days of MAP and if you do well during the MAP. One of the prizes is an IPod nanos.

Here is our Schedule:
April 1-3 Communication Arts
April 4-8 Math
April 15-17 Science-5th grade only
This is what MAP testing looks like!
