5A Social Studies State Project

During Social Studies this month we worked on our State Project. At the beginning of the State Project we chose a state and researched it. We had a list of things we needed to find out about our state before we could make our presentation. There were three kinds of things we could do for our project. We could make a radio commercial, prepare pamphlets, or put together a poster. Finally we presented whatever we did. It was really fun and we learned a lot. I hope we can do something like this next year!

The Oscar For Best Director Goes Too...........

During the last two weeks students in my class have been working on a PowerPoint project that they would give to the entire class. I had one student who with a little free time upon finishing his project put together one of the more amazing things I've seen. I asked this student to show me how they did it because I was really blown away by the finished product. He used a recording option on a program we use here at our school, Microsoft Paint, and Microsoft Movie Maker. I think you will be as blown away by what this student did as I was.

Mr. Harpers Civil War Project

In Mr. Harper’s class we are currently learning about the civil war. The civil war took place between 1861 and 1865. It was one of the bloodiest wars ever with Northern portion of the United States fighting against Southern portion of the US. The south was for slavery while the North was against slavery. In this project I am working on maps that show the Northeren and the Southern states and the territories. In Mr. Harper’s class we have had a lot of fun learing about the Civil War.
